In the fan-dedicated clip, the Olympic luminaries hope to bring home the gold and make all of us in America proud of our country! Now more than ever is the time for Americans to come together, find common ground, and cheer! No matter what your political or religious beliefs are, the Olympics are a time to stay positive and let go of petty BS.
No pressure, but we’re all kind of expecting #TeamUSA to be at the top of their game, despite having to live in some pretty damaged apartments while competing. At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, Team USA brought home nine gold medals, seven silver, and 12 bronze for a total of 28. Not bad! Let’s see if we can do even better this year! We finished 4th overall in 2014 so there’s still room to grow. Leading our great nation at the opening ceremony is swimming gold-medalist Michael Phelps, who was nominated as USA’s flag bearer. Michael will be waving the American flag high and proud at Maracanã Stadium for the opening ceremony on Aug. 5.
