Caterina Scorsone is pregnant with her second child right as ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 13 is about to begin. Does this mean Amelia and Owen are going to be expecting a baby this season? An expecting Caterina Scorsone revealed all at ABC’s TCA event on Aug. 5.
“I don’t think so,” Caterina told Entertainment Weekly. “I think they don’t want to burn through all that story, but I also think that last time they wrote my pregnancy in, and I think Shonda [Rhimes] is going to give me a break on this one.”
The show is “picking up right where we left off” in Amelia and Owen’s relationship, Caterina revealed to our sister site TVLine. The two newlyweds are happy and in love. However, they are “not in a ton of the premiere.”
While Amelia and Owen may not be having a baby right now, don’t count the possibility out. We all know that Owen wants to have a child, that’s part of the reason why Owen and Cristina split up.
Amelia has been pregnant once before, when she was on Private Practice. Her pregnancy was an emotional roller coaster. Her baby had no brain and she decided to donate the baby’s organs to save the lives of other infants.
Grey’s Anatomy is still going strong in season 13. This season will be the first in 10 seasons without Callie (Sara Ramirez) in the mix. Grey’s Anatomy remains Shonda Rhimes’ longest-running drama and is one of the biggest Thursday night shows. Grey’s kicks off TGIT every Thursday, but this fall will feature a different Thursday night.
Meanwhile, Kerry Washington’s second pregnancy has pushed Scandal to midseason. Freshman drama Notorious will air in its place at 9 p.m. ET.
