Finally! Calvin Harris and John Newman dropped their sexy music video for ‘Ole’ on Aug. 5, and fans think there just might be a few nods to Calvin’s ex Taylor Swift in it. Do you think he’s dissing her? See for yourself, right here!
Calvin Harris and John Newman’s new music video for ‘Ole’ is hot, hot, hot! The guys have a blast hanging out on the beach, lounging on a yacht, chilling in a seaside mansion and doing donuts in a speed boat alongside several stunning bikini-clad women, and it’s just as fun as the song is catchy!
However, of course with Calvin and Taylor Swift’s split coming right before the song’s release, fans can’t help but speculate that the song, and even parts of the music video, might be taking a dig at the pop star! For example, the guys are hanging out on a seaside mansion, which is where Taylor brought her new boyfriend Tom Hiddleston just two weeks after her split from Calvin.
The video seems to match up scene-for-scene with Taylor and Tom’s first public rendezvous. Calvin and John are seen walking down the beach with their gorgeous lady-friends, just like Taylor and Tom. There is even a scene with a gorgeous woman lounging on the rocks by the beach, which you may remember was the setting for Tay and Tom’s first romantic pics together! Hmmm… interesting.
The lyrics to the summer jam only further increase the speculation. “My heart speaks, I ain’t seen you or bin’ with you for weeks, but I see online that you’ve begun to be a good girl and take trips with your boyfriend, being attentive continue to pretend,” sings John. “But no, cos’ there’s no telling how far you can go. You’ve hidden my name on your phone so you can call me to tell me you’ve been going through hell, left him alone and you’ve booked in a hotel.”
The last line has actually lead some people to speculate that the song might actually be about Rita Ora, Calvin’s other ex, because The Sun reported in 2014 that they split when he found out she didn’t tell him she was in the same city and stayed in a hotel instead. Ouch! If Calvin was upset at the time of writing the song about either of the women, this video proves he’s over it now. He looks perfectly content chatting it up with the gorgeous brunette models!
