From sheer to ruffles, Sarah Jessica Parker shows off a slew of fall trends for her September 2016 cover shoot for ‘Marie Claire’ magazine — and inside she opens up about marriage and divorce in a candid interview.
While we may always associate Sarah Jessica Parker, 51, with her stylish and whimsical Sex and the City character, Carrie Bradshaw, the actress is making a grand return to HBO with her highly-anticipated new show, Divorce — and she’s celebrating her new series with a stylish, chic shoot for Marie Claire magazine’s September 2016 issue, all while sharing her personal views on relationships. SJP looks effortlessly stylish for the shoot, (which comes as no surprise).
“For me, it’s really the investment in the other person. And it’s the expectations you have. They change and you get smarter, and maybe you think those expectations aren’t worth striving for with this person, and that’s when people bail,” she told the mag regarding marriage and divorce.
SJP also shared her personal views on the gender pay gap. “I would like all of that nonsense to end. I would like women to get paid for the value of their contributions, not by old-fashioned ideas about gender,” she said.

While SJP thinks equality is so important, she doesn’t consider herself a feminist. She futher explained, saying: “I am not a feminist. I don’t think I qualify. I believe in women and I believe in equality, but I think there is so much that needs to be done that I don’t even want to separate it anymore. I’m so tired of separation. I just want people to be treated equally.”
