Isaac Brock might want to switch to Uber after this. The lead singer of Modest Mouse left devastation and destruction in his wake, causing a massive car wreck after he fell asleep at the wheel! Yikes.
Modest Mouse really isn’t the band to cause people to mosh, thrash and stage dive, so it’s surprising that their front man caused so much chaos. Isaac Brock, 41, better be happy he was able to walk away from the 5-car wreck he caused on Aug. 3, per TMZ. While he was driving around Portland, Oregon, he dozed off and suddenly slammed into the back of a city parks vehicle near Southeast Grand Avenue after crossing the Morrison Bridge. That caused a chain reaction: the car Isaac hit crashed into a third, which rammed into a fourth, which slammed into a fifth car.
Sadly, Isaac’s Land Rover got the worst of the five-car accident, but luckily, he’s okay! One other driver was hospitalized with a concussion, but when police checked out the “Float On” singer, he passed their tests. There were also no signs of intoxication, according to The Oregonian, but the police did cite him for careless driving.
“I fells asleep at the wheel,” Isaac told TMZ, “nodded off and the next thing I knew, there was a car.” Still, he was a bit banged up from the ordeal, saying he suffered a bruised sternum from his Land Rover’s airbag. Still, he’d rather take the bruise than be dead, as the safety feature definitely saved his life.
Perhaps this was revenge for Isaac trashing Portland. In 2015, he said, “Portland’s weird, but it’s kind of a crappy weird. It’s the most vagrant ridden…what a collection of human turds.” Uh, ouch. Though, he better hit up a Starbucks of one of Portland’s many lovely coffee shops before he thinks about getting behind the wheel again.
Are you shocked by the devastation of this wreck, HollywoodLifers? Are you glad that no one was seriously injured?
