Gwen Stefani is glowing on the September issue of ‘Cosmopolitan,’ and Blake Shelton may have something to do with that. The singer revealed that working on music with Blake about their past relationships has made them stronger than ever! See what she said here!
Gwen, 46, admitted that she and Blake, 40, have both been dealing with trust issues from their previous relationships, but it’s nothing that couldn’t be fixed with some music. “We were both having trust issues, as you would if you were us. It was like, ‘I have so many problems. How can I now be getting into another potentially huge problem? What am I doing,'” Gwen told Cosmopolitan.
The “Hollaback Girl” singer may have been feeling down, but she says the writing was a great form of therapy. “Blake wrote the song and sent it to me. He was like, ‘Help me finish it.’ I wrote a verse and sent it to him, but he was gone because he doesn’t live in L.A. He didn’t have Wi-Fi, so he wasn’t answering me back,” she continued. “As soon as he came back to town, he brought his guitar over. We were like, ‘We wrote a song together! This is crazy!'” SO cute!
Gwen and Blake dropped their first single together, “Go Ahead And Break My Heart,” in May 2016, detailing their failed relationships and heart aches. And after listening to it one time, it’s definitely evident that they were fully vulnerable and trusting with one another! “You know I’m broken I don’t trust anyone/Last thing I needed was to fall in love/ You got me dreaming got me thinking I got some hope,” some of their lyrics sing.
Gwen did reveal in her cover story that she is still coping with the “torture” that her ex, Gavin Rossdale put her through, but this definitely sounds like it was a breakthrough moment for the couple! There are rumors that suggest the honeymoon is over for The Voice judges. But based off of their intense chemistry, there’s probably nothing another duet can’t fix!
