Could Luke and Lorelai be expecting a baby in the ‘Gilmore Girls’ revival? Scott Patterson is finally sounding off on the upcoming Netflix revival in an all-new interview and confirms that Luke & Lorelai are definitely together when we see them again! You guys, Luke is spilling all the spoilers.
“I can tell you that we are together,” Scott, 57, told PEOPLE at the Kiehl’s National LifeRide for amfAR celebration in New York City. “We are together and we’re sort of figuring out our next step.”
Could this “next step” for the beloved onscreen couple be a baby? The official Gilmore Girls Instagram page posted a promotional photo of a plate of Pop-Tarts with an apple in the middle on Aug. 2. Every Gilmore Girls fan knows that the only time Lorelai ever craved an apple was when she was pregnant with Rory.
While this plate could just be paying homage to the season 1 scene where Lorelai treats Rory’s friends to a plate of Pop-Tarts and an apple, this new photo could definitely mean Lorelai or Rory have a baby on the way.
Scott also revealed how the show was affected by the tragic death of Ed Herrmann, who played Richard Gilmore on the original series. “Losing Ed, it left just a gaping hole and it was so tragic and so shocking to lose him,” he said. “But as far as the storytelling was concerned, it really deepened the scripts and affected the tone of a lot of it and especially our characters and how we related to one another.”
Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life will premiere on Netflix on Nov. 25. Scott, Lauren Graham, 49, Alexis Bledel, 34, Melissa McCarthy, 45, Kelly Bishop, 72, Jared Padalecki, 34, Milo Ventimiglia, 39, Matt Czuchry, 39, and more of the original cast will all make appearances in the revival.
