Who here wants to eat cake by the ocean? Anyone…? Joe Jonas and his band DNCE heard nothing but crickets when they decided to hit the streets of Orlando and mingle with their fans. What they expected was at least some recognition, but turns out nobody knew who they were! Watch the embarrassing video.
Using the fake name Jack, frontman Joe Jonas, 26, and the members of DNCE decided to walk around downtown Orlando and ask people on the street if they were fans of the band and their music — but what they heard was pretty unexpected. Turns out, almost NOBODY had ever heard of DNCE before, and even more shockingly, nobody seemed to recognized the Jonas name! Don’t these people watch the Disney Channel?!
Granted, a few people in the video don’t exactly fit the Disney demographic age-wise, but if Joe was standing RIGHT in front of you, surely at least one lightbulb would go off in your mind. And if you think watching this is awkward for you, just imagine how the “Cake By The Ocean” singers must feel! A few interviewees went so far as to say they didn’t care for the band’s leading single, nor did they think members of the group were ‘handsome.’ Maybe Joe should have done this improvised interview topless because his six-pack is OUT OF CONTROL. The pop-rock band thankfully got a few nods from teenage girls before their ego was completely destroyed.
Even though this must have been a humbling moment for the pop-rock group, DNCE is still doing very well for themselves. They are currently on a world tour, traveling all over the U.S and then heading to Australia, New Zealand, the U.K and Mexico to promote their debut album SWAAY. The city of Orlando may not have been their number one fan, but surely there are millions and billions of other teenage girls in the world counting down the days until DNCE performs at their local venue.
HollywoodLifers, would you recognize the members of DNCE on the street? Are you planning to see them in concert?
