JoJo finally found her Prince Charming . . . but did she make the right choice? Well, in my mind all signs point to yes. (Spoilers ahead!)
First things first: JoJo Fletcher finally picked her man, Jordan Rodgers, on the finale of The Bachelorette, after the entire episode showed her leaning toward Robby Hayes. Or did it? Well, it was clear from the moment he walked in, JoJo’s family preferred him.
He was well put together, his words came out smoothly as though he had rehearsed them — and JoJo ate them up over and over again. I understand why her parents thought he seemed more serious. On paper, he was perfect. Jordan came in as himself. He didn’t rehearse. He told them he loved their daughter and wanted to be with her forever.
Sure, Jordan didn’t ask her dad for his permission to propose, and honestly I can’t really explain why that is. He gave JoJo a very long explanation but at the end of the day, it was basically because the moment didn’t feel right. If he had asked, it would have been completely rushed and forced. Like much of Robby’s conversations. Don’t get me wrong: Robby was a charmer and JoJo really did seem into him. However on After the Final Rose, she explained it: she loved him but wasn’t in love with him, the way she was with Jordan all along.
And that’s what I saw from day one. Jordan got the first impression rose. Ultimately, he made JoJo laugh and their physical chemistry was undeniable. Anyone could see that. So even though it seemed JoJo wanted to want to choose Robby, had Jordan not called her parents and not written that letter, maybe she would have chosen Robby.
In my opinion, she’d look back at that with regret. Time after time, date after date, she was crazy about Robby and how respectful he was to her, to women in general, and how he was overall a very kind man that knew how to treat a woman. But time after time, it was Jordan who she felt the connection with and that was obvious. There are many (not enough but still) men out there who know the right way to treat a woman like Robby does. But if that want and need isn’t there — the way it clearly was for Jordan — it wouldn’t be right and JoJo wouldn’t be choosing the best for her.
When she got the letter she was immediately thrown into a panic attack. To me, that was because she now had no reason not to choose Jordan and she knew that she’d be hurting Robby. In my mind, Jordan not asking her father was the only reservation she had. So once that was gone, it was clear she needed to follow her heart.
So HollywoodLifers, do you agree with me? Do you think JoJo made the right choice? Let me know!
