Oh this is just too good! As the USA men’s basketball team made their way to Rio, they engaged in quite the epic sing-along to Vanessa Carlton’s ‘A Thousand Miles’ — but Carmelo Anthony could have cared less. See the video of his hilarious reaction right here!
If karaoke was part of the Olympics, Carmelo Anthony apparently wouldn’t be joining in the fun. The 32-year-old New York Knicks star was NOT having it with his Team USA teammates as they fangirled to one of the best sing-along tunes out there: “A Thousand Miles.” Even if ‘Melo and his b-ball squad don’t take home a medal at Rio this summer, we think he deserves an award for the Most Unimpressed Athlete!
Toronto Raptors shooting guard DeMar DeRozan documented the plane jam sesh in an Instagram vid, catching the likes of Jimmy Butler, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Durant rocking out to the classic ’00s hit. While it was easy to see that DeMar was totally judging his teammates for their girly antics, it wasn’t until he panned over to the corner of the plane that wasn’t singing along — Carmelo was as straight-faced as can be! Watch his reaction below:
Maybe ‘Melo was just too tired to join in? Or maybe he couldn’t stand how off key Jimmy and Kyrie were? Regardless, he had the saltiest look on his face and was clearly not enjoying himself while the rest of the plane laughed and sang. Whatever it was, we’re impressed Carmelo managed to keep such a straight face — this sing-along was too hilarious to not laugh at!
With the Olympics just around the corner (they kickoff Friday, Aug. 5), we’re thinking this may not be the only time we see Team USA jamming out together. Whether Carmelo will decide to join in, who knows, but either way one thing is for sure: This expression will go down in Olympic history!
