The love is definitely alive and well between Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani! The country singer couldn’t help but gush over his girlfriend in a new interview, and even dished all about how he knew he was REALLY falling for her on the set of ‘The Voice.’
Blake Shelton, 40, and Gwen Stefani, 46, got together as they went through their own respective divorces, and he detailed the exact moment he knew it became more than just a friendship in a new interview.
“I thought it was going to be another one of those ‘things-are-going-to-be-OK talks,'” Blake explained to Billboard, referring to a conversation he had with Gwen after letting her and the rest of The Voice coaches know he and Miranda Lambert, 32, had split. “She didn’t tell me much because we didn’t know each other at the time, but she said, ‘I’m going through something very similar to what you’re going through. I under stand. And I hate it.'”
From there, it didn’t take long for them to get close. “That’s kind of how our friendship and bond started, that day,” the 40-year-old admitted. “It went from that, to checking in on each other once a week through email — ‘This s*** happened to me, what happened to you?’ — to maybe three times a week, then every day to ‘Hey, here’s my phone number if you ever want to text. Next thing I know, I wake up and she’s all I care about and I’m wondering if she feels the same about me.”
Ummm, you guys — is this not the sweetest thing you’ve ever heard?! Both Blake and Gwen have been open about the fact that they really helped one another get through the darkest times of their lives, but we’ve never heard the country star so sentimental about it all!
In the same interview, Blake admitted to being at “rock bottom” and “in the middle of hell” after his divorce. He didn’t specify exactly what went wrong with Miranda, however, he did reveal that we “can’t even imagine the similarities” in his and Gwen’s splits. Considering we know that Gavin Rossdale, 50, cheated on the No Doubt singer, does that mean Miranda was unfaithful, too!?
HollywoodLifers, do you think Blake and Gwen’s relationship will last?
