Someone won the $487 million Powerball jackpot on July 30, and they haven’t claimed their prize money. Are you the lucky winner, and just don’t know it yet?
The winning $487 million Powerball ticket was sold in New Hampshire on July 30, Powerball officials have confirmed. But the winner has yet to come forward to receive their millions upon millions of dollars! Maybe it’s one of you, HollywoodLifers, and you just don’t know it yet!
The winning ticket was sold at the Hannaford Supermarket in Raymond, New Hampshire, which is located at 2 Freetown Road. The winning numbers were 11, 17, 21, 23, and 32. The Powerball was 5. This was the eighth-largest Powerball drawing in the history of the lottery.
Whoever bought that ticket is one lucky duck; the odds of buying the winning Powerball ticket are 1 in 292 million, according to Powerball. Seriously, the lottery is played in 44 states — sorry peeps who live in Alabama, Alaska, Hawaii, Mississippi, Nevada and Utah! But you can also score the big bucks in the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. That’s some tough competition!
The last time there was a Powerball winner was May 7, when a family in New Jersey won $429.6 million! The biggest lottery drawing in history, of course, was when the Powerball jackpot reached a whopping $1.6 billion in January 2016. Three separate winners were declared in California, Tennessee and Florida.
We may have to wait awhile to see who comes forward for the July 30 Powerball jackpot. The California winners for the January Powerball, the crazy $1.6 billion one, didn’t claim their $528 million share of the prize until just a week ago! They opted to take home the cash option, meaning they’ll get $327.8 million before taxes right away, rather than dole out the winnings over 30 years! Nice!
