You’ve heard all about the Heaven Sent jump, in which skydiver Luke Aikins crazily leapt from an airplane without a parachute! Now you can see the incredible stunt RIGHT HERE! Click through to watch him make history!
Luke Aikins, 42, did something insane on July 30. The legendary skydiver and BASE jumper completed the Heaven Sent jump, in which he skydived 25,000 feet from an airplane and landed into a 100-foot by 100-foot net on the ground — without using a parachute or a wingsuit!
He escaped the mesmerizing stunt completely unscathed, and did it on live TV (with a five second delay) with millions watching — including his family; his wife and four-year-old son were on the ground in Simi Valley, California when Luke completed his jump! As you can see from the video, Luke makes the jump look totally easy, not like he’s free-falling into a relatively small net from thousands of feet in the air! The entire descent to Earth only took 27 seconds! Wow!

The craziest part of this footage is the “Luke cam.” You can see the ground rushing up toward Luke from his perspective, the seemingly tiny net getting bigger and bigger as he plummets toward Earth. We can’t imagine being brave enough, or crazy enough, to pull something like this off!
While everyone and their mother feared for Luke’s life during Heaven Sent, it was reassuring to know that he’s not some amateur. Luke basically wrote the book on skydiving, having come from a long dynasty of pro divers, and completing 18,000 jumps! Luke is so renowned at this that he trains Navy SEALS on jump techniques. So not just anyone would be tapped to do Heaven Sent!
