Okay, this is officially too cute! Katy Perry gave the most inspiring speech before her explosive performance at the Democratic National Convention on July 28. However, she later revealed that proud boyfriend Orlando Bloom actually helped her write it! See her explanation, here.
We’re still tingling from Katy Perry’s powerful performance on July 28 at the Democratic National Convention. However, it was her speech beforehand that left the biggest impact. Katy talked about how she never even finished high school, but that not having an education doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have a voice, and that she was going to use hers to support Hillary Clinton. Aww!
There was one line that really stood out to one of her followers who tweeted it after the big number. “It’s not where you come from but what you grow into,” they quoted, feeling inspired. That’s when Katy gave credit where credit was due: to her boyfriend Orlando Bloom. “Lando put that one in,” she said, followed by a big red heart emoji.
Okay, two things. 1. can life get more romantic than your a-list actor boyfriend helping you write a speech for the biggest political stage in America? No? We didn’t think so. And 2. she calls him Lando?! That’s just too freaking adorable. Wow.
Speaking of adorable, we definitely weren’t expecting to see Orlando at the DNC on July 28, but he totally surprised us by showing up in the audience! And not only was he there, he was looking absolutely dashing and full of pride as he steadily held a camcorder recording his beautiful girlfriend. Not a quick recording on his phone. A CAMCORDER! These two are serious relationship goals! We never want them to end.
