Wow — we did NOT see this one coming. Singer/songwriter Halsey dropped a MAJOR bombshell in a super emotional interview by bravely revealing that she suffered a traumatic miscarriage while on tour in 2015. Even worse — she now blames herself for the devastating loss of her child. SO sad.
Singer Ashley Frangipane, 21, who is more commonly know by her stage name Halsey, revealed something HUGE in a recent interview with Rolling Stone magazine. The young star admitted that while she was touring the country last year, she ended up pregnant…only to suffer a tragic miscarriage soon after. And understandably Halsey said she was “terrified” of opening up in the powerful interview.
The writer of the article, who also suffered a miscarriage, described the fateful day Halsey lost her baby as traumatic, painful, and completely eyeopening. “She’s screaming on a hotel bed, bloody, naked from the waist down, hours before she’s to go onstage,” the interviewer wrote.
And then Halsey offered her own two sense, “I beat myself up for it,” the singer explained. “I think that the reason it happened is just the lifestyle I was living. I wasn’t drinking. I wasn’t doing drugs. I was f**king overworked, in the hospital every couple of weeks because I was dehydrated, needing bags of IVs brought to my green room. I was anemic, I was fainting. My body just broke the f**k down.”
But while Halsey had her miscarriage just hours before she was supposed to perform, the show must go on, and the pop star — who collaborated with Justin Bieber, 22, on his album, Purpose — went out on that stage and gave her audience the “angriest performance” of her life.
“That was the moment of my life where I thought to myself, ‘I don’t feel like a f**king human being anymore,'” Halsey revealed. “This thing, this music, Halsey, whatever it is that I’m doing, took precedence and priority over every decision that I made regarding this entire situation from the moment I found out until the moment it went wrong. I walked offstage and went into the parking lot and just started throwing up.”
But since her courageous confession, the hashtag “Proud of Halsey” trended on social media, with fans showering the singer with their supportive words of love and encouragement.

But apparently the part of the story that bothers Halsey the most is the fact that she actually went out and played that concert almost immediately after losing her baby — and no one forced her to do it. “I had a choice,” she told the publication, even though at the time if may have felt like she didn’t.
Halsey concluded by saying that she does want children in the future, telling the magazine, “I want to be a mom more than I want to be a pop star. More than I want to be anything in the world.” We wish Halsey all the best and certainly hope she gets her wish!
Tell us, HollywoodLifers — are you shocked to hear that Halsey suffered such a devastating loss while on tour? Are you surprised she kept it a secret for so long?
