Toby Sheldon’s tragic passing finally has some closure. Nearly a full year after the famed Justin Bieber look-alike was found dead in San Fernando Valley, California, autopsy results have revealed his cause of death. Get the details here.
Fans and family of Justin Bieber look-alike Toby Sheldon patiently waited nearly a year to find out if drugs were what caused his death, as it was reported that police discovered drugs near his body when he was found dead in a San Fernando Valley Motel 6 on August 21, 2015. Toby’s autopsy results have been released, and sadly, drugs were what took his life at just 35 years old.
At the time of death, Toby had “all kinds of narcotic painkillers and prescription drugs in his system,” according to the autopsy results which were obtained by TMZ. The autopsy found that Toby’s body had a combination of the painkillers oxycodone and hydrocodone, sleep aids zolpidem and temazepam, diazepam (Valium), alprazolam (Xanax) and alcohol in it, the L.A. County Coroner said. Because of this, Toby’s official cause of death has been ruled “multiple drug intoxication.”
There seemed to be no apparent trauma or foul play, the autopsy report reads. Although there was seemingly no trace of insulin in Toby’s system, police also found a syringe and a bottle of insulin next to his body upon discovering it last summer. At the time, it was reported that Toby (whose legal name is Tobias Strebel) had just gone through a bad break-up with his boyfriend a few days prior to his death.
Toby had appeared on TLC’s My Strange Addiction and E!’s Botched for his dedication to looking like Justin, as he spent $100,000 to resemble the pop star. Fans were devastated to hear about his tragic passing and took to Twitter to express their grief. Toby will be missed.
