That was awesome! Paul Simon took the stage at the Democratic National Convention on July 25, and he totally crushed his touching performance of ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water.’ We have all the details on the powerful song, right here.
Paul Simon, 74, totally rocked the Democratic National Conference on July 25! He showed his support for the party by singing “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” and it was as powerful and inspirational as it was fun to watch! The massive stage transformed to put majestic scenes of nature behind the legendary musician, and it was totally magical. The delegates in the crowd totally loved it, holding hands and waving to the music.
Paul’s performance was meant to come after Sarah Silverman (a passionate Bernie Sanders supporter) encouraged the crowd to become unified behind Hillary Clinton. Unfortunately, the moment was tarnished by chants of “Bernie! Bernie!” and Sarah awkwardly telling the “Bernie Or Bust” people that they’re “being ridiculous.” Yikes!
Paul looked pretty comfortable up there on the national stage, and that’s because this isn’t his first time! He made a surprise appearance on July 24 on the convention floor, where he soulfully sang “Bridge Over Troubled Water” while the audio team ran a sound check. What a treat that must have been!
