Power of Love? No — it’s all about the power of Celine Dion! The legend took over the ‘Today Show’ Concert Series Summer stage with not only an electric medley of her hits, but also a beautiful rendition of the classic ‘Somewhere Over The Rainbow.’ Your ears may not be worthy, but we have the performances for you right here!
So. Many. Emotions. Celine absolutely killed it as she started her medley with “A New Day Has Come” and it gave us all the feels. In a silver shining blazer and matching pants, she lit up the crowd. The singer kicked off her hits with a few background singers and two guitarists, before she rolled right into “That’s The Way It Is”, which really got the crowd on their feet. She told the concert goers, “You are looking good!”, as they moved and clapped along with her. Celine’s moves were pretty impressive too!
Then, as she was ending her medley with her hit song, “I’m Alive”, she asked the crowd to sing the last lyric with her. Celine and her fans belted out, “I’m Alive!” together and it was a beautiful moment. She’s never looked better!
After all of that, Celine was just getting started! She hit the stage to give us a real treat with, “Because You Loved Me”, and instantly she mesmerized everyone. Celine belted out the powerful anthem effortlessly, and to see the crowd filled with strength as they sang along was an amazing sight.
We couldn’t believe our eyes when she had yet another hit on deck! Celine told Today Show host Matt Lauer, “I don’t want to leave either!” Then we were given the gift of “Over The Rainbow” the hit classic Judy Garland performed in the “The Wizard Of Oz” movie, and as expected — Celine owned it!
The show continued for Celine fans, as she sang “Water And A Flame”, and at this point we were already in tears. The Today Show plaza was stunned while she passionately performed the sultry song. Celine was a vision as her emotion donned right through when she put all she had into the track.
But the Celine-centric fun doesn’t end there! The night before, our fave Canadian crooner visited Jimmy Fallon to talk about returning to her Vegas residency after the tragic death of her beloved husband Renee. But then, she did her best impressions of other musical ladies, include Cher, Rihanna and my personal favorite, Sia. Not too many celebrities would sacrifice a perfect blowout to commit to an impression, but Celine is no ordinary celebrity! And who knew she could twerk like that?! Those moves, I can not! She sure gave Ariana Grande a run of her money!
