Full disclosure: I was a little skeptical going into the Magic Men Live show. With a name like that all you can think of is Channing Tatum, Joe Manganiello, and Matt Bomer, right? Well, I have really, really good news for you ladies and gentlemen… Magic Men Live is pretty much everything you want it to be — and maybe a little more.
For starters, yes the guys are totally hot, and yes they take their clothes off — repeatedly — but it’s the show production, soundtrack, and 2-hour running time that will totally take your breath away. Magic Men Live has everything you would expect from a typical male revue: firefighters, soldiers, cowboys, and more. But what you won’t see coming are the modern-day aspects, which I don’t want to totally spoil for you, but if you’re into boy bands and movies that involve a red room of pain, you’re in for a real treat!
First, I want to let Magic Mike fans know that while the show is in no way a rip off of the film and totally stands on it’s own, there are aspects you will recognize and greatly appreciate. For instance, the opening is a pretty flawless homage to the films that you’ll have to see to believe. There’s also an entire segment dedicated to their very own “Magic Mike” and yes, of course “Pony” is used, and it’s pretty spectacular.
So if you’re down for a solid two hours of performances, lots of lap dances, and some serious one-on-one interaction with the hunky guys themselves, then Magic Men Live is definitely for you. But if you hate fun, having a good time, and super hot dudes, you should probably stay home.
So yes, I admittedly started out a little hesitant, but after an incredible show with some really hot performances, I left the venue with a 2016 calendar, a t-shirt that reads “My Ideal Weight Is Magic Men On Top Of Me,” and plans to go back for more as soon as they come to town again. Hopefully I’ll see some of you there!
