Louis Tomlinson joins Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum and the rest of the judges at the judges’ table on the July 20 episode of ‘America’s Got Talent.’ The last round of acts are chosen in the final round of judge cuts! Who will make it through to live shows? Read our live blog!
There were 20 acts vying for only 7 spots in the live shows. Who would succeed? Who would fall? It was all going down in just two hours! Simon Cowell was the one to bring Louis Tomlinson to the live shows as a guest judge, and it was just adorable. The girls went wild for him. Louis was excited for the opportunity to chance someone’s life with the hit of the Golden Buzzer. Aw!
First up were acrobats ThroWings. Annie and Andre started out strong and made everyone gasp in awe. You couldn’t look away from this death-defying act. Then Annie took things to the next level by blindfolding herself! She performed more incredible tricks with Andre flawlessly. ThroWings sealed their routine with a kiss! All 5 judges loved their act.
Campbell Walker Fields was up next. The 14-year-old performed a pretty rendition Christina Perri’s “A Thousand Years” on the piano. Heidi Klum pointed on some performance problems, but complimented on the heart he put into the song. Simon agreed.
Dance group FLIP followed Campbell. They didn’t hold back. The girls freaked out a little when Louis told them how well they did. But they weren’t the only dance group in the competition. The boys of Outlawz had taken the judges’ criticism and reworked their performance. It was much better than their first time around, and the judges applauded them for it.
During a break, Louis went backstage to talk to all the acts. He gave them a little pep talk before the rest of the performances.
Jayna Brown, 14, was the next to wow the judges. She broke down over not having her own home and dedicated her performance of Andra Day’s “Rise Up” to her mother. All of the judges gave her a standing ovation. Simon said she had just “turned this competition upside down.” THEN LOUIS GAVE HER THE GOLDEN BUZZER! Backstage with her mom, Jayna adorably freaked out over Louis hugging her.
John Hetlinger, 82, once again brought his screaming vocals to the America’s Got Talent stage. Simon thought John was “fantastic.” The adorable Nathan Bockstahler, 6, was next and pulled off a hilarious joke routine. He’s so cute it hurts!
Ukranian-born juggle Viktor Kee tried to impress the judges yet again with his routine. His act wasn’t your normal juggling act — it was so much more. The judges really liked him, but not enough to send him to the live shows just yet. Sos and Victoria Petrosyan were the first magic act of the night. Victoria had many fashion changes throughout their act, but Simon was expecting more.
The group Musicality, from the south side of Chicago, was next. This group has been through so much together. One member’s sister was murdered and thrown behind a dumpster. They all came together to heal and rise above their hardships. Muscality performed an incredible rendition of Demi Lovato’s “Skyscraper.” Simon loved them and said “they’re what the show’s all about.”
The Baron of the Universe shocked the judges by chaining his nipples to a vehicle and pulling them. The judges were a little grossed out, but they kind of liked it. Simon even noted that the Baron could be the type of unexpected person that could win it all!
The Clairvoyants were up next and needed to up their game to make it to the live shows. They pulled some tricks on the judges, wowing them in the process. The girl even guessed the serial number on Simon’s $20 bill!
Jayna was already in, so now the judges had to choose 6 more acts for the live shows. Sos and Victoria were the next to move on, along with ThroWings, Outlawz, Viktor Kee and Musicality.
