Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort has gotten quite creative in explaining Melania Trump’s alleged RNC speech plagiarism. He’s blaming the entire gaffe on Hillary Clinton! Click through for Paul’s bizarre accusation.
Melania Trump delivered an initially well-received speech on the first night (7/18) of the Republican National Convention, in which she spoke of husband Donald Trump‘s qualifications to be president, and the values they hoped to pass on to their kids. Too bad First Lady Michelle Obama gave almost the same speech in 2008!
“There’s no cribbing of Michelle Obama’s speech. These were common words and values, that she cares about her family, things like that,” Trump’s campaign manager, Paul Manafort said. “I mean, [Melania] was speaking in front of 35 million people last night. She knew that. To think that she would be cribbing Michelle Obama’s words is crazy.”
“This is once again an example of when a woman threatens Hillary Clinton, how she seeks out to demean her and take her down,” he said. Paul told reporters there was a “political tint” to the plagiarism allegations, and accused Hillary’s campaign of being the first to talk about the speech without any proof.

There were entire paragraphs of Melania’s speech, whether in words or ideas, that seemed to be lifted from Michelle’s, but the Trump campaign is denying, denying, denying, that this happened! Hillary’s communications director, Jennifer Palmieri, shot down the accusation immediately on Twitter. Paul is going to have to keep doing damage control for awhile, because all the celebs are out in full force on Twitter mocking Melania’s mess-up. Buckle up, Trumps!
