The world’s obsession with ‘Making A Murderer’ is about to continue. Netflix announced on July 19 that new episodes focusing on Steven Avery’s case are on the way! Get the details on the new chapter of the hit show.
Netflix officially announced that executive producers and directors, Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos, are in production on new episodes. Steven Avery, 54, and Brendan Dassey, 26, will once again be at the center of the show. The new episodes will provide an “in-depth look at the high-stakes post-conviction process, as well as, the emotional toll the process takes on all involved.”
“We are extremely grateful for the tremendous response to, and support of, the series,” Laura and Moira said in a statement. “The viewers’ interest and attention has ensured that the story is not over, and we are fully committed to continuing to document events as they unfold.”
Steven’s new lawyer, Kathleen Zellner, will be featured in the upcoming episodes, replacing Dean Strang and Jerry Buting. The 10-episode Netflix documentary series captivated the world as it followed Steven Avery’s case through the years. From being wrongfully convicted of rape and attempted murder to being convicted of murdering Teresa Halbach, Steven’s case is riveting.
Back in March 2016, Kathleen revealed that her team had a “couple” of new suspects that were worth pursuing. “I’d say there’s one, leading the pack by a lot,” she said, according to Newsweek. “But I don’t want to scare him off, I don’t want him to run.”
Teresa’s case has left millions divided. Many believe Steven Avery was framed for the shocking murder. A lot of evidence has been revealed supporting the theory. But some think he did it. One thing’s for sure — there’s a lot more story to tell.
