Shots fired! Makeup artist Jeffree Star is blasting back at ex bestie Kat Von D after she put him on notice for using a pal’s artwork as his logo then refusing to pay for it. She also wrote a scathing Instagram post where she told fans she was disassociating herself from him. Now Jeffree is having his two cents about the whole scandal!
Jeffree wants the world to know there’s two sides to the story. After Kat made allegations that he used friend BJ Betts‘ artwork as his cosmetics brand logo and never paid him for it, he claims that couldn’t be further from the truth. On July 19, he tweeted,”I feel sorry for everyone who jumps on the bandwagon,” telling his followers “The fact that so many people watch someones side and then attack, is predictable. My amazing fans and customers know the truth. ”
“There is no beef with BJ,” he explained. “We worked together in 2014 on an idea and someone else took over. Everyone’s been paid.
#chillout. I never stole my logo. Where’s the receipts??? Where’s the lawsuit?? I created my brand in 2014. The truth is not in her video,” referring to a 13 minute Youtube clip where Kat explained why she was cutting ties with her former friend.
Kat went to great lengths to detail why she was suddenly cut Jeffree from her life and it had to do with his mistreatment of artist pal BJ. “I introduced Jeffrey to BJ and he drew up his logos and Jeffrey went forward with them,” Kat explained about how the art seen on all of Jeffree’s makeup line products is BJ’s design and that he, “Never, ever paid BJ.” Not only that, she claims Jeffree went on to block his number so he couldn’t get payment! Kat explains that word of this got back to her on July 16 and she called Jeffree to discuss the situation with him and he told her to “Go f*** yourself,” and then blocked her number!
The famed tattoo artist — who did most of Jeffree’s extensive body art — posted to Instagram that she was completely done with her friendship with Jeffree. In a scathing note she wrote, “After years of making excuses for, and rationalizing Jeffree’s inappropriate behavior (including, promoting drug use, racism, and bullying) I can no longer hold my tongue after recent events. I know that over the years, many of you were introduced to Jeffree through me, and regardless if you chose to continue to follow him or not, I just would like to disassociate myself from him and his brand from this point on.” She later put out the video to explain her reasons.
HollywoodLifers, do you think it was right of Kat to make her spat with Jeffree so public?
