Grab your tissues. Love is officially dead. Joshua Jackson, 37, and Diane Kruger, 39, have officially called it quits after ten years of dating. The two had homes in both Vancouver and Paris and were spotted in NYC together on July 16 — just two days before the news of the split was confirmed.
“Diane Kruger and Josh Jackson have decided to separate and remain friends,” reps for both actors confirmed to People magazine. Just hours after the pair were spotted out together in NY — where they moved in together in March — she posted a photo from a plane, writing “It’s just an au revoir, not an adieu.” Of course, that means the same as “It’s not goodbye, just see you later.”
However, she followed it up with a sort of cryptic quote.
In 2015, the pair sparked marriage rumors when Josh referred to her as his “wife” at the CFDA Awards — but getting married again wasn’t in the cards for her. She divorced from her ex, director Guillaume Canet in 2006, and revealed to Glamour magazine that she didn’t “believe in marriage.”
“I believe in a commitment that you make in your heart,” she said in 2011, five years into her relationship with Josh. “There’s no paper that will make you stay. A guy friend of mine said, and it made a lot of sense, that people should get married at the end of the road, not the beginning.”
“I can tell you why we’re not married: We’re not religious,” Josh told Glamour in two years later 2014. “I don’t feel any more or less committed to Diane for not having stood in front of a priest and had a giant party. We’re both children of divorce, so it’s hard for me to take marriage at face value as the thing that shows you’ve grown up and are committed to another person. It may change at some point. We may get married.”
