First she wanted us to free the nipple, now Scout Willis wants us to focus our energies outward, and free our arm pit hair. The daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis proudly showcased her side bushes during an L.A. shopping trip on Saturday July 16, and it really is a forest under there!
Naturally Scout Willis, 24, opted to go braless under her white cropped tank top and paired the causal look with baggy ripped jeans cuffed at the ankle, and black slides. Meanwhile, her chestnut/auburn hair fell well past her shoulders, providing a stark contrast to her much darker bushy pit hairs.
The singer/songwriter, who recently released a song called “Mysterious Ways,” is parlaying her Hollywood royalty status into a career in fashion and launching her own vintage-themed clothing brand, Scout’s General. In February she premiered her new clothing label during New York Fashion Week.
She told The New York Times: “This season is really focused on things that wouldn’t just look good on superskinny fashion girls. I want it to be really affordable, really wearable, but also look really luxurious and nice.”
Scout is better known for her Free the Nipple Campaign, launched in 2014. “I understand that people don’t want to take me seriously,” Scout wrote for XO Jane. “Or would rather just write me off as an attention-seeking, over-privileged, ignorant, white girl. I am white and I was born to a high profile and financially privileged family. I didn’t choose my public life, but it did give me this platform. A platform that helps make body politics newsworthy.”
“Women are regularly kicked off Instagram for posting photos with any portion of the areola exposed, while photos sans nipple — degrading as they might be — remain unchallenged,” she wrote. “Matters like the taboo of the nipple in the 21st century, public breastfeeding, slut shaming, fat shaming, breast cancer awareness, body positivity, gender inequality, and censorship have found their way into mainstream discussion.”
HollywoodLifers, is this look totes gross or are you ready to ditch your razor in solidarity?
