So. Much. Shade. Teresa failed to invite Jacqueline to her New Year’s Eve party on the July 17 episode of ‘RHONJ,’ but she tried making up for it by calling and wishing Jacqueline a happy 2016. Unfortunately, the call quickly turned disastrous when she realized the Wakiles were on speakerphone too!
What did Kathy ever do to Teresa? Woof. On the July 17 episode of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Teresa attempted to make amends with Jacqueline, but while doing so, she totally alienated her cousins even more than they already were.
While sitting with Dolores at her NYE party, Teresa thought it would be nice to call Jacqueline and wish her a Happy New Year. In her mind, she felt it was a good way to start repairing their tattered relationship. And it was sweet — we’ll admit that. But in typical Teresa fashion, she still managed to throw major shade. However, it wasn’t directed at Jacqueline. Instead, it was aimed at her cousins, Kathy and Rosie. As Teresa and Jacqueline were talking, Kathy and Rosie yelled, “Happy New Year.” It seemed sweet, but Teresa was immediately annoyed. “Do you usually put your phone calls on speaker?” she asked Jacqueline, without even acknowledging her cousins. Mind you, Teresa was also talking to Jacqueline on speakerphone. (Hello! You’re filming. Of course the call is on speakerphone, Teresa. Ugh.) Even so, Teresa demanded Jacqueline take the call off speaker. And in an interview during the show, Teresa said she had no regrets about not inviting her cousins to her NYE party because everyone who is considered her “family” was at the party. “My family was here. I know who my family is,” she said. (Harsh!)
Jacqueline felt the phone call was “f***ing weird,” and so did we, but at least it’s progress. Right?
Meanwhile, Teresa also tried to make headway with Melissa during a private chat before Christmas. Teresa asked Melissa to defend her if anyone tries to take her down. She mentioned how Melissa once teamed up with Caroline, Jacqueline, and Kathy, and even brought up the 2010 Christening (yes, she went there), but they both agreed to move forward and finally act like true sisters with each other. It was basically the same conversation they’ve always had — where Teresa barely accepts responsibility for anything she’s ever done to Melissa, but yet demands Melissa be a “good sister” and “stick with her blood.” Hopefully, this time, they’ll actually follow through. Or should we say — let’s hope Teresa follows through.
