Absolutely unforgivable. The brother of Qandeel Baloch has confessed to the murder of the Pakistani social media queen, insisting he has ‘no regrets’ over strangling her to death following his arrest, according to a new report. Click here to read all the details.
As we told you, on July 16 Qandeel‘s body was found unresponsive and her brother Waseem Baloch was on the run. However, he was arrested in Dera Ghazi Khan, central Pakistan on July 16. He has already confessed to her murder, according to The Dawn newspaper admitting he drugged poor Qandeel and strangled her for “dishonoring the Baloch name.”
The Dawn said the brother told them, “”She wasn’t aware I was killing her. I gave her a tablet and then strangled her.” He added, “I am not ashamed. We are Baloch and as Baloch we cannot tolerate [this]”.
Qandeel was a household name in Pakistan, universally followed like Kim Kardashian West on social media, and sometimes just as controversial. In fact, her sometimes raunchy postings, photographs and comments were often frowned up in the very conservative country that Pakistan is.
While he was being quizzed by cops as to why he would’ve committed such an atrocity, The Dawn claims he pointed to a picture she took with the cleric, Mufti Abdul Qavi. Police confirmed that Waseem escaped to Dera Ghazi Khan after killing Qandeel in the Karimabad area of Multan on July 17.
He fled with two friends, who are said to be still on the run, and police are still investigating their role in this awful and tragic situation.
Meanwhile, Qandeel, whose real name was Fouzia Azeem, was laid to rest on July 17 at her ancestral village, near Dera Ghazi Khan in the Punjab province.
