Take that, JT! Britney Spears’ new song ‘Make Me’ reached No. 1 in over 30 countries as of today, July 15 — surpassing Justin Timberlake’s ‘Can’t Stop the Feeling!’ — and we’re so happy for her! The singer has told her followers that the feeling is ‘incredible’.
Yep, Britney Spears‘ infectious new song “Make Me” has dethroned Justin Timberlake‘s “Can’t Stop The Feeling”! “This is an incredible feeling. Thank you, thank you, thank you!! #MakeMe,” the popstar tweeted upon learning the news that she was #1 on iTunes. G-Eazy, the rapper who features on the track, also tweeted, “Thank you @britneyspears for the opportunity #MakeMe available now.” Great job, kids! If you haven’t listened to “Make Me” yet, be sure to do so ASAP below:
Justin and Britney split over fourteen years ago, but it’s still got to feel good for Britney to overtake her ex. There was actually a rumor that the “Pretty Girls” singer was going to diss Justin with the lyrics in “Make Me”, but fortunately that turned out not to be the case. That would be a pretty immature move after all this time, no? Then again, we have yet to see the video…so revenge on her ex might still be in store!
Britney dropped “Make Me” on July 14, and it was an instant hit. It’s the first single from her highly anticipated upcoming 9th album, and we’re obsessed with it. Britney has said that she’s super excited about the album, which she’s been working on for over a year and a half. She’s referred to it as her “baby”, and calls the album’s sound “melodic” and less “poppy”. We’re really interested to see the new direction Britney is going in, especially now that we can hear that “Make Me” is so good!
