OMG! Rihanna had a close call as she was in Nice, France when the horrific Bastille Day massacre went down. She was in the beachside city prepping for a concert when the deadly terror attack that killed 84 people happened right outside her own hotel!
Oh man, talk about scary. Rihanna, 28, was in Nice, France on Bastille Day, when a terrorist drove a tractor-trailer truck over a mile down a crowded promenade before getting out and opening fire on the crowd that had just finished watching a fireworks celebration. The shocking attack left at least 84 revelers dead and hundred more injured right in front of the hotel she and her team were staying in.
Her personal Chef Debbie Solomon wrote on Instagram that, “After a beautiful day in Nice. It ends with tragedy right in front of our hotel. No one can either get in or out. And it’s being reported that they’re hostages. I am happy everyone in our group is safe and accounted for but my heart goes out to all the families who now have to deal with all the heartache.”
Nice was the next stop on RiRi’s #ANTI World Tour and she was scheduled to play Nice’s Allianz Riviera Stadium on July 15. According to TMZ, her team was trying to get Rihanna out of the city as quickly as possible in an abundance of caution in case any other terrorist attacks went down, and Billboard later confirmed through her rep that she was “safe,” and Debbie’s message makes it sound like they’re holed up in their hotel. The president of France announced that her concert, along with a jazz festival, would be cancelled in light of the horrific tragedy.
UPDATE: Rihanna has shared on Instagram that she will not be performing in Nice because of the massacre, saying “Due to the tragic events in #Nice, my concert scheduled for tomorrow July 15 at Allianz Stadium will not be going ahead as planned. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families.
HollywoodLifers, do you think Rihanna will reschedule her concert in Nice?
