It’s all about team sports, folks! In this year in sport we’ve had some incredible performances in the NBA, NHL and NFL. But only one team can walk away with ‘Best Team’ award at the ESPY Awards on July 13. Congrats to, Cleveland Cavaliers!
What a year in sport it has been. We’ve had teams from the NBA, NHL, NFL and even in MLB provide us with some incredible highs during their seasons. But at the ESPY Awards on July 13, it was Cleveland Cavaliers who were voted as the ‘Best Team’ thanks to their incredible winning formula. Well done, guys!
“I think I’ve said enough, so I think you’d like to hear from J.R. Smith,” LeBron said first to the crowd, beckoning his teammate to the microphone. “Thanks, I appreciate all you guys, thanks to my family, my daughter,” J.R. started, before suffering with a little bit of stage fright and moving away from the mic. But, after bringing the NBA Championship home for the first time ever, these boys deserved it.
It’s been a vintage year in sport, and it was tough to choose between all these great teams that were vying for the top award at the ESPY’s for ‘Best Team.’
The Cleveland Cavaliers, of course, swept aside Stephen Curry‘s Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals to bring the championship home for the first time ever. The Pittsburgh Penguins clinched the Stanley Cup by defeating San Jose Sharks, the Denver Broncos won the Superbowl in magnificent style, with Peyton Manning bowing out of the game for good. So sad.
But we have to say, it was kinda surprising that the Warriors weren’t even nominated in this. I mean, after all they broke the all-time winning record in the NBA and just because they lost the NBA Finals, it didn’t make them a bad team overnight!
HollywoodLifers, did you agree with who won the ‘Best Team’ award? Do you think it should’ve gone to someone else? Tell us what you think below!
