In a very conflicted Facebook video, the first-ever black woman to be crowned Miss Alabama shockingly reveals that she believes Micah X. Johnson was a ‘martyr’ and that she has no remorse for the families of the slain police officers in Dallas. Click inside to watch this truly bizarre video.
Kalyn Chapman James has shocked the world with her latest Facebook Live video. On July 9, the former Miss Alabama revealed that she is having trouble coping with the horrific shooting in Dallas. Although she is clearly upset while talking about the massacre of police officers, she shares that her struggle is more with feeling that their murderer, Micah X. Johnson, had a right to do what he did.
“I can’t stop replaying the image of these men being killed in my mind, and my heart weeps. And I think more than anything I’m dealing with a bit of guilt because… because I don’t feel sad for the officers that lost their lives,” Kalyn shared in a tearful Facebook video shortly after leaving church on Saturday, July 9. As the video continues, Kalyn explains that she knows how she feels is wrong, but that she can’t help but think shooter Micah X. Johnson’s actions were justified. This is truly disturbing to watch.
“I know that that’s not really my heart. I value human life… and I want to feel sad for them, but I can’t help but feeling like the shooter was a martyr. I know it’s not the right way to feel because nobody deserves to lose their lives, and I know that those police officers had families and people who loved them and that they didn’t deserve to die, but I’m so torn up in my heart about seeing these men, these black men being gunned down in our community, that I can’t help… ,” Kalyn continued, pausing briefly to catch her breath as she continued crying into the camera. “I can’t help but feel like I wasn’t surprised by what the shooter did to those cops. And I think a lot of us feel the same way. And I know that it’s not right, and I definitely don’t condone violence, but I’m sick of this and I’m sad and I’m hurt.”
Kalyn’s surprising video ended with her asking her fellow Facebook friends to help her deal with these feelings. “Maybe some of you have some insight or some comfort or words to offer because I know that the people who know me know my heart, I definitely do not condone violence against innocent people, but I’m sick of this,” she explained. “I’m sick of this and something has to be done. Period.”
The video was posted on Kalyn’s Facebook page, where she has continued updating her friends and followers about the aftermath of her truly disturbing video confession. Kalyn has revealed that she is receiving death threats, and it has also been reported that she was put on administrative leave from her job. Awkward.
