Steph Curry‘s gorgeous wife and fan favorite Ayesha Curry, 27, might have some competition for camera time in the stands at Golden State Warriors games next season thanks to the team’s newest star Kevin Durant‘s mom Wanda, 48. HollywoodLife.com has learned EXCLUSIVELY that she’s already getting a competitive streak and wants to unseat Ayesha as the Warrior’s number one fan!
“Ayesha‘s days of being Miss Bay Area are over thanks to Wanda. Wanda’s excited to come to Oakland and wants the spotlight to be all on her because after all, she is the real MVP,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. When Kevin accepted the 2014 NBA Most Valuable Player Award and gave a super emotional speech crediting all of his success to Wanda, naming her “the real MVP,” which has since stuck as her nickname.
“She’s already become a bigger diva than she was in Oklahoma. She’s told Kevin she doesn’t want to see Ayesha‘s head in front of her at any home games and is demanding court side seats at every home game. In fact, when Kevin begins to do media and meet and greets with his new teammates rest assured momma will be right there, front and center. She’s excited to come to Oak Town and wants the team and the city to welcome her and Kevin with open arms,” our insider adds.
Kevin broke the hearts of OKC Thunder fans when on July 4th he made it official that he was leaving the team that made him a star to head to the Bay Area and join the mighty Warriors, signing a two-year, $54.3 million contract.
As for his bold decision, he wrote in the Players Tribune that, “The primary mandate I had for myself in making this decision was to have it based on the potential for my growth as a player — as that has always steered me in the right direction, but I am also at a point in my life where it is of equal importance to find an opportunity that encourages my evolution as a man: moving out of my comfort zone to a new city and community which offers the greatest potential for my contribution and personal growth.” And of course mama Wanda will be coming along to Oakland for the ride!
