Joe Perry, 65, is slowly recovering after scarily collapsing onstage during the Hollywood Vampires show in New York City on July 10. The large crowd was in shock as the Aerosmith guitarist fell to the ground in the middle of the show and had to be rushed to the hospital. Get the latest on his condition right here.
A fan video from the crowd shows Joe, apparently winded, taking a seat on the drum riser before eventually stumbling over backstage. It’s hard to see exactly what happens, but there’s no mistaking the rush of medical officials racing to his side to whisk him off to the hospital.
Hollywood Vampires frontman, Alice Cooper, reportedly explained to the crowd that Joe had been “sick” before the show, then led the audience in a “Get well Joe” chant, according to a fan at the concert. No further details about what exactly was wrong with him have been revealed.
“Thanks to all the fans reaching out and asking about Joe,” the 65-year-old’s official Twitter page read after the incident. “He is stable right now, with family and is under the best care.” The Hollywood Vampires’ Facebook page also confirmed that Joe was “stable and resting.” Specific details about his condition have not been released.
Joe was originally taken to Coney Island Hospital, but was eventually transferred to Columbia Presbyterian, according to NBC News. We hope he’s able to recover quickly!
