Iggy Azalea is facing massive criticism on Twitter for not speaking out and supporting Black Lives Matter. Fans are calling out the rapper for being a ‘culture vulture’! Click through to read their frustrated tweets.
Fans don’t understand how Iggy Azalea, 26, can use black culture to influence her music, but still not vocalize her support of the Black Lives Matter movement. In light of the recent injustices the black community is facing throughout the United States, fans believe she needs to speak up, pronto! Click through to see their tweets directed at Iggy.
Iggy is being called out for a couple of things: appropriating black culture, and not standing up for black people. The rapper has faced criticism in the past for behavior perceived as racist, and this failure to not support Black Lives Matter is not looking good for her. In just the past week, two innocent black men, Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, were fatally shot by police. And in Dallas, Texas, both police and Black Lives Matter protestors were shot by snipers; many were killed.
Massive protests have been going on throughout the country, from Atlanta, to Chicago, to NYC, to Oakland, all in the name of justice for the black community. And Twitter is calling out white celebs, like Iggy, for staying silent when they’re clearly influenced by black music and culture to cultivate their image! Take a look:

“Where is Justin Beiber? Post Malone? Iggy Azalea?Or any of these other culture vultures that benefit from musicwill theyevenspeakout?” another user tweeted. Clearly, people have a bone to pick with other white celebrities, and not just Iggy. Justin, Miley Cyrus, even Adele were criticized.
Fans slammed Justin Timberlake for his response Jesse Williams‘ incredibly powerful speech at the 2016 BET Awards on June 26. The singer’s praise for the speech was criticized for the way that it was worded, and he was called out for his long history of appropriating black culture — from his musical style, to those unfortunate NSYNC cornrow days. White celebrities need to do better.
