Uh oh! While Prince George is usually extremely well behaved, he had a bit of a temper tantrum while attending an airshow with his parents, Kate Middleton & Prince William, on July 8. It seems like the toddler might have been scared of the giant aircrafts — aw!
Apparently July 8 was take-your-prince-to-work day as Prince George, 2, joined Kate Middleton, 34, and Prince William, 34, for the first time during an official Kensington Palace engagement in the United Kingdom. And, aside from a major crying fit soon after he arrived, the little prince totally nailed his royal appearance! He EVEN got a front row seat in a giant helicopter, which apparently was enough to dry his tears!
The royal fam — minus Princess Charlotte, 1 — appeared at the Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF (Royal Air Force) Fairford on July 8. And Kate and William totally surprised visitors by brining along their little toddler! And while George was a total champ for MOST of the visit, he did have a bit of a slip-up soon after he arrived when he burst into tears in front of the cameras. But let’s be real, the youngster is only two years old so we do not blame him!
After he dried his tears, George was SUCH a charmer as he pointed at planes in the sky, waved to visitors, and seemed especially fascinated by the helicopters. “I imagine his father has told him about helicopters, so he knew what that was called and kept saying, ‘tail rotor.’ It was good to see his technical knowledge! Some training going on early!” Flight Lieutenant Jim Hobkirk revealed to People magazine.
And lucky for George, he actually got to sit inside of a helicopter, which we’re sure made his day! The Royals checked out a Squirrel helicopter and even got a close look into the cockpit — it was the same aircraft William trained in when he was based at RAF Shawbury back in 2009. How cool is that?
Kate sat with George in the back of the aircraft instead of at the controls as George reportedly appeared a bit nervous to be inside the helicopter. But hey, we don’t blame him — it was his first time inside of one! “He seemed overawed with the noise and being inside a helicopter. It was a lovely family moment,” the flight lieutenant dished. “We shut the doors so they could have a quiet moment to themselves. The Duke was telling him, ‘I used to fly these.’ George was very quiet.”
Of course George looked cute as a button at the world’s largest military show in a white collar shirt and navy shorts. He also sported bright blue protective headphones. WHAT an adorable family affair! And the event is for a great cause too as it’s in support of the Royal Air Force Charitable Trust, which aims to support the RAF and encourage interest of the aviation industry among young people. Very cool!
How adorable is Prince George in this helicopter, HollywoodLifers? Do you think he’ll fly them one day like his dad?
