Taylor Spreitler, 22, has sadly revealed the news in a tribute with a photo of him cradling a dog, alongside a lengthy paragraph of heartfelt words. “Today my heart is hurting,” she wrote on July 7. In the caption she revealed her father “took his own life due to his struggles with depression.”
Her father “was found dead Tuesday morning inside the downtown Amory, Mississippi coffee shop he owns,” Daily Mail reported. “Authorities say he suffered a gunshot wound.”
Danny “previously served as C-E-O at the Gilmore Medical Center and later ran the Gilmore Foundation until 2015, which provided funding to multiple non-profit organizations,” the site mentions. “He had a restaurant and catering business at the time of his death.”
Taylor expressed her raw feelings and used her photo sharing account as a platform to “educate everyone on the pain that depression can cause.” She informed her followers that her “mission now is to educate others on how to get help.”
The actress then provided the phone number to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline telling readers to please tell the lifeline if they are struggling. Taylor has asked for respect for her family’s privacy during this difficult time so they “may heal from the devastating news.” She thanked everyone for their love and support.

The 22-year-old appeared to be very close with her late father. She documented some of their close relationship on her Instagram page throughout their time together. With throwback photos and more, the two seemed adorably inseparable. Taylor even referred to him as one of “the most amazing men I’ve ever known.”
