To benefit the victims and their families, Jennifer, Lin-Manuel and Epic Records are proudly donating 100% of their proceeds (at least ninety-one cents) from each U.S. download sale of the single from July 8 to October 5 to the Hispanic Federation for the Somos Orlando Fund.
The benefits from Proyecto Somos Orlando “will address the long-term needs for mental health services that are culturally competent and bilingual” for victims of the Orlando shooting and their grieving families, according to the Hispanic Federation’s website. “They will be provided with case management, crisis intervention, and mental health services.”
JLo originally teased originally teased the tune with a behind-the-scenes video with clips making the song, while Lin tweeted about it. The two instantly created buzz around the news and fans have been waiting for the song ever since.
Celebrities reacted all around the globe after the Pulse nightclub shooting, mourning and paying their respect to the victims and their families. Beyonce, 34, and Justin Bieber, 22, are just two of the many artists who paid tribute on their current tours.
Jennifer took to her Instagram to post a beautiful collage of her and Lin, dedicated to the title of the sweet song. “Those who hate us and fear us cannot keep us down; Cause we hear in our heartbeat a beautiful sound; If they try to deny us or silence us now; We just say no oo; Yea we let em know; Love make the world go round,” she captioned the photo, which seem to be uplifting lyrics from the song. After the caption followed numerous hashtags to pray for “ALLlives,” including Dallas, where a horrible shooting occurred at a protest July 7, Philando Castile, who was brutally shot by police in Falcon Heights, and many more.
