This Gretchen Carlson story just keeps getting more appalling. The former Fox News anchor filed a lawsuit against CEO Roger Ailes and co-host Steve Doocy on July 6, and in it she revealed that complaints of harassment earned her the label ‘man hater’ from her boss. Here’s the scoop.
This will make your skin crawl. Gretchen Carlson, 50, went to Fox News CEO Roger Ailes, 76, to complain about being sexually harassed at work, and instead of helping her he accused her of being a “man hater,” according to the docs from her new lawsuit filed against him and co-host Steve Doocy, 59, on July 6. We have all the details, right here.
Gretchen stunned the world on July 9 with the accusations that her boss and co-host had been sexually harassing her for years. while many of the claims are totally horrifying, among the wort is what she claimed happened when she went to Roger for help after feeling that her co-workers weren’t treating her fairly.
When she told Roger that she was being sexually harassed at work, “Ailes allegedly called Carlson a “man hater” and “killer” who needed to learn to “get along with the boys,” according to the lawsuit she filed. Wow, that’s just totally disgusting. So many women silently deal with harassment at work for fear of this exact reaction from bosses, and it’s terrifying to hear it may have happened at such a huge network.
Roger himself shut down all of Gretchen’s claims, saying “Gretchen Carlson’s allegations are false. This is a retaliatory suit for the network’s decision not to renew her contract, which was due to the fact that her disappointingly low ratings were dragging down the afternoon lineup.”
