Uh oh! Amber Rose is not happy about being included in Kanye West’s controversial ‘Famous’ music video! She’s been holding her tongue since it came out on June 24, but now she’s letting loose and telling us how she really feels. Check it out, right here.
Amber Rose, 32, is finally speaking up about Kanye West’s “Famous” music video! The daring diva has kept quiet since he first revealed the video featuring a naked wax figure that looks just like her, but on June 30 she revealed her full thoughts about it, and her response might surprise you. See for yourself, here.
We expected Amber to be fuming mad when she saw a naked wax figure of herself snuggled up in bed with Kanye, Kim Kardashian, Donald Trump, Taylor Swift and more stars, but her reaction was surprisingly calm and yet frustrated – for good reason.
“The misconception—and I still hear this seven years later, to this day—is, ‘You’re only famous for Kanye,” Amber told The Daily Beast . Surprisingly, she doesn’t argue that point. “Initially, absolutely. In 2009, when they’re like, ‘Amber Rose—Kanye’s girlfriend,’ I was like, ‘OK, that’s pretty accurate. That’s what it is.’ But I didn’t ask to be famous, and I didn’t even talk or do interviews for two years, because I thought, ‘I don’t want this. I’m not famous.'”
“Over time, with going out in public, I realized it would never go away, so I didn’t have any choice but to progress,” she explained. “Everything I’ve done since then is my own doing, and I’ve worked my f*cking ass off for everything I have. But Wendy Williams put Charlamagne on. Jay Z put Kanye on! But they don’t do that to men, and they always want to diminish my accomplishments and put them on someone else when I work really hard.”
Clearly Amber feels that Kanye included her in the video because he “made her famous,” just like he said about Taylor, who was also seen naked in the video. However, Kanye insists that isn’t what this is about. “It’s not in support or anti any of [the people in the video],” Kanye said to Vanity Fair. “It’s a comment on fame.”
To be fair, Kanye included a lot of people that he has no way to claim he made famous, like Donald, Anna Wintour, and Rihanna, so he may not have included Amber as a way to diss her. However, Amber has worked very hard to make the most of her fame, so it’s understandable that she would feel hurt for being linked to Kanye yet again when she wants to leave that past behind.
