We have no words. One of the youngest victims of the devastating Istanbul airport attack was laid to rest on June 30 along with three other members of her family. The 8-year-old, Huda Amiri, was on a family vacation when the terror attack occurred.
This is SO heartbreaking. Huda Amiri was only 8 years old when her life was cut short by the horrific terrorist attack that took place at an Istanbul airport on June 28. Huda was reportedly vacationing with her family in Turkey when the attack took place. And out of the eight family members there, only four survived! Huda was buried on June 30 as her surviving family members mourned their great loss.
“Before she goes, she hugs me and she told me, ‘Father, come with us,'” Huda’s father, Muhammed Amiri, told CNN the day of her funeral. “I tell her that I will come.” As Muhammed stared down at his little girl’s casket, he brushed his hands over it and softly whispered, “She was very lovely. I lost her.”

Apparently Huda and her family were waiting outside the terminal waiting for a taxi, when Huda was killed along with her three aunts: Kerime Amiri, 24, Zehra Amir, 16, and Meryem Amiri, 14. Her grandmother and another aunt were among the 239 injured in the attack. “I’m heartbroken. We are so powerless against these terrorists,” Huda’s grandfather told the news station.
We can’t even imagine what this family is going through right now. And while Huda was certainly one of the youngest people to die in the attack, Rayan Mohammad Shremeh, a 3-year-old boy also perished. Little Rayan ended up dying on June 30 due to severe injuries he suffered during the massacre. And a day earlier, on June 29, his mother, Sundus Abdulhalim Basha, 25, succumbed to her injuries as well. SO sad.
“The ones who did this are brutal criminals,” Rayan’s father, Marvan Shremeh, said to ABC News. “How come they kill innocent people?” The current death toll is now 42, according to the Turkish state news agency, Anadolu, CNN reported. What a horrific tragedy.
Our hearts are with the Amiri family and all other friends and family of the Istanbul victims. HollywoodLifers, please express your condolences below.
