Oh say can you see? Hopefully, you can because it’ll soon be America’s Independence Day and the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular literally happens just once a year. For fans not sure where they can catch this colorful display, here is all the need-to-know info.
The Macy’s 4th of July spectacular happens all across New York City’s east side, according to the official website. Fireworks will be set off from barges floating near the Brooklyn Bridge. To catch this display, people can take their 4th of July fashions and head to public viewing spaces in Manhattan at: Pearl Street and Frankfront Street; Old Slip (upper Level); Broad Street (ground level); and at the Vietnam Memorial Park. Brooklynites can head to Furman Street and Old Fulton to watch the fireworks from their side of the river.
That, of course, is not all. Barges will travel up the East River and light up the sky between 23rd Street and 37th street. Those trendy patriots in Manhattan can hit up the official viewing sites at 16th street and Avenue C, before traveling up the FDR Drive to official sites at Houston Street, 16th Street, 23rd Street and 34th Street. Fireworks enthusiasts in Queens can also watch from Center Blvd., from 48th to 49th Ave.
While Macy’s fireworks will be on the East River, fans on the westside won’t be left out. Jersey City will make also get in the fun of blowing stuff up, as they’ll display fireworks at Liberty State Park, according to Time Out New York. Fans can be like Ariel Winter, 18, and flaunt their patriotic bikinis on the waterfront. There will also be fireworks displays in Atlantic City, Long Branch, Point Pleasant and Wildwood, New Jersey, per MommyPoppins. Plus, for those in the historic Asbury Park, there’s good news! For the first time in history, visitors and fireworks enthusiasts will be able to watch the city’s epic fireworks display from two incredible rooftops of The Asbury Hotel.
Macy’s recommends avoiding Battery Park, Roosevelt Island and Hunter’s Point South Waterfront Park. Of course, for those who don’t live in New York City or New Jersey, ABC will broadcast Macy’s 40th Annual 4th of July 2016 Fireworks Spectacular, per Latin Post. Meghan Trainor, 22, Kenny Chesney, 48, and 5 Seconds of Summer are scheduled to perform. HollywoodLife.com will have a livestream so make sure you come back to catch every boom and colorful explosion!
