I called her around 9 or 10 that morning to ask her a favor and I could tell something was wrong with her,” Madison’s friend told Daily Mail. “I could just tell in her voice she was upset about something. I asked her what was going on and she wouldn’t tell me. She just said that she was arguing with her mom. I found that really weird because she would always tell me what was wrong with her but that day she just didn’t tell me.”
This is so heartbreaking. That argument with her mother turned into a fight for her life, after Christy lured the girls, and their father/her husband, Jason Sheats, 45, into the living room under the guise of having a “family meeting.” It’s still unknown what led to Christy’s horrendous decision to gather her family to kill them. In that room, Christy raised her gun in the air, and began firing, shooting both girls.

Her daughters and husband ran outside; Madison collapsed once out the door and died. She shot Taylor once more, and attempted to shoot Jason. But she had to pause and reload her gun. Jason sprinted to call 911, but Christy was able to come back and shoot Taylor again before police could arrive. They shot and killed her when she tried to shoot her daughter again. Taylor was airlifted to the hospital and later died.

The tragic murders were especially shocking for Madison’s friend, who never saw anything like this coming from Madison’s “good” mom. “I was over there almost every weekend and we did stuff together. I never noticed anything with the family. I mean they argued but there was nothing really big,” she said. “Her mom was a good person. I just don’t know what happened that day.”
