The Euro 2016 might just be one of the most jaw-dropping soccer tournaments ever! If there’s any doubt, just look at the epic Round of 16 clash between Iceland and England. It didn’t take long for the balls to start flying as these two squads scored three goals in under 20 minutes!
The first goal happened just five minutes into the June 27 game, according to The Sun. It looked like England’s Raheem Sterling, 21, was going to put all criticism of his shoddy playing to rest, as he broke through Iceland’s defense to rush the goal. He was taken down before he could take the shot, but this charge helped set up his teammate, Wayne Rooney, 30. While taking a penalty kick, Wayne fired the ball low into the corner of the net, and England was up, 1-0!

They would remain in the lead…for 34 seconds. If Iceland has proven anything during this exciting Euro 2016 tournament, it’s that to never count them out. Once England was done celebrating, Ragnar Sigurdsson, 30, was in the right place at the right time to kick a ball rebounding off a teammate’s head. This shot got past the England’s defense to even things up, 1-1.

How incredibly exciting but the action wasn’t done! The third goal would happen less than 20 minutes into the game, as Kolbeinn Sigthorsson, 26, would dance his way around England’s defenders before taking his shot. The goalie, Joe Hart, tried hard to stop the shot but it literally slipped through his fingers and back into the net. Whoops! 2-1, Iceland.

What an amazing display from the Scandinavians! They’re proving why they’re the team that held Cristiano Ronaldo, 31, and the world-class Portugal team to a 1-1 tie. Could they be England’s doom, or with the boys from Britain bounce back in the second half? Update: Iceland wins, 2-1, and will face France in the Quarterfinals!
