Steven Tyler confirmed his beloved rock band Aerosmith is planning a ‘farewell tour’ in 2017! So does the front man’s announcement mean that they are saying good-bye for good!? HollywoodLife.com has the details!
Steven Tyler, 68, recently sat down for an interview with Howard Stern, 62, to discuss his band Aerosmith‘s future in addition to promoting his new album We’re All Somebody From Somewhere. So when the singer revealed that they are doing a “farewell tour, only because it’s time,” of course our minds went spinning! Does this mean the band is calling it a wrap after?! We’ve got the scoop, below!
“Yeah,” Steven revealed that the band is moving on in the interview! He added that guitarist Joe Perry, 65, also knows the end is near, but there is no bad blood over the split. “I love this band, I really do,” he continued. It’s still okay for us to grieve a little, right! Luckily, he joked that the tour’s length would go on “probably forever.” Phew at least we have time before it’s all over.
Steven is still quite busy as of now. He’s had 30 solo shows for his Out On a Limb tour scheduled to last for the next few months and his new album hit stores July 15. One of Steven’s venues will be The Venetian in Las Vegas — so you know it’s going to be poppin’ in the best way! He’s also going to bring that incomparable energy for his Aerosmith South American tour, which is slated to begin this Oct.
Steven recently stopped by the Today show on June 24 to put on a stellar performance of his new country-themed song “We’re All Somebody From Somewhere.” He performed the album’s title track and third single for the screaming fans, who were clapping along and loving every minute of the crooner showing off his epic vocal skills. The “Walk This Way” singer has long known how to walk that walk and talk that talk! He’s been giving divas a run for their money with that high falsetto for some time now.
Since Aersosmith isn’t one of the bands who have had repeated “farewell tours” in the past, we’re taking this hard news in stride! Steven stole many hearts over the years, especially with his song “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing,” which he wrote for his 38-year-old daughter Liv Tyler‘s starring role in the 1998 tear-jerker, Armageddon.
