Rachel Roy faced major heat for allegedly being Beyonce’s “Becky with the good hair,” but the designer isn’t shying away. She’s even dishing about her best tips to achieving desirable locks! We’ve got the details, here.
We can already hear the Beyhive buzzing! Rachel Roy, 42, aka the alleged “Becky with the good hair” from 34-year-old Beyoncé‘s album Lemonade is capitalizing on her woes. After facing backlash for being the possible mistress to Jay-Z, 46, she is using that reputation to clap back — giving fans the scoop on how to get the best tresses during a new interview. Check it out!
Rachel is making headlines once again after her recent interview with Into The Gloss about how to achieve long and strong hair that will be the envy of others. Cue the: “oh no she didnt’s!” She said, “Now I go to Tracey Cunningham for a gloss, to brighten it, and then someone at her salon Mèche cuts it.”
“On occasion, I do get oil treatments where they put oil on your scalp row by row and then massage you for 30 minutes,” Rachel continued. “It’s amazing because my scalp gets dry. That’s why I only wash my hair about once a week. I’m a dry shampoo girl because of that. I can get a blowout to last me a whole week. If I get it styled, I like braids or a ponytail. I like it done really high and tight because it gives your face a little lift.” What a great little trick!
Rachel also discussed her career, skin care, and health, but we’re shocked that she commented on her hair. I mean, whaaat?! She became suspect number one after taking to Instagram on April 23, the night Bey’s album was released, captioning a photo showcasing her long black mane alongside a friend, “Good hair don’t care, but we will take good lighting, for selfies, or self truths, always. live in the light #nodramaqueens.”
The song mentioning “Becky” is none other than Beyoncé’s hit single “Sorry” where she embodies all the hate that she felt for the other woman and her hubby sneaking around and used it to create self-confidence again. It certainly is a powerful ballad, thus it is pretty worthy of all the hype. Rumors of Rachel being flirty with Jay emerged after the elevator incident at the 2014 Met Gala, where the pair was allegedly chatting at the after party.
It’s still not confirmed who “Becky” really is, but Rita Ora was also receiving hate from the Beyhive and so was Rachel Ray, ironically enough. Bey seems to be past the issue at this point, considering she and Jay have been seen happily vacationing and keeping focused on their family. Let’s hope all this drama comes to an end so we can all move on!
HollywoodLifers, do you think Rachel doing an interview on how to achieve the best hair was classy or catty?
