You may need some tissues for this ones. During this year’s VidCon weekend, a special video tribute for Christina Grimmie was played, and it’s beyond touching. Help honor the late singer by checking out the montage, put together by her friends, right here.
Christina Grimmie, 22, got her start as a YouTube star, so it makes sense that her loss was heavily felt at this year’s VidCon over the June 23-26 weekend. In memory of the 22-year-old, who was shot dead at her concert on June 10, a special tribute montage played during the event, and you can watch it here.
The video was put together by some of Christina’s closest friends and fellow YouTube stars. It features the pals singing her song “With Love” as footage of the late singer flashes across the screen. The tribute perfectly captures Christina’s great attitude and goofy spirit, and it’s nearly impossible not to shed some tears as you watch it.
As we previously reported, Kevin James Liobl, 27, showed up to a meet and greet after Christina’s June 10 show in Orlando and opened fire, shooting and killing her. Her brother, Marcus, stepped in and tackled the vicious shooter to the ground, at which point, Kevin shot himself.
“I don’t have anything to say, I don’t have words still and it’s a good and bad thing,” Marcus said at Christina’s funeral. “All I’m going to say is thank God for the mark that she left on this world. Thanks mom and dad, I know it’s going to be really tough for us to move forward.”
Christina’s family released a similar tribute on her YouTube page after the funeral, too. “Christina Grimmie was taken from all of us far too soon, but the impact she had on this world in the short 22 years of her life will carry on forever,” they captioned the montage. Well said.
