She’s baaack! With new music for the first time in four years, Alicia Keys took the stage at the BET Awards on June 26 to perform her song ‘In Common,’ and obviously, it was beyond incredible. She got SO into it up there, in fact, that she even knocked her keyboard over when she was done singing!
Alicia Keys, 35, is back and better than ever! It’s been quite a while since the talented singer has put out new music, but the wait has been worth it, and she proved that during her performance at the BET Awards on June 26. SOOO good!
Talk about talent! Alicia played piano and acoustic guitar during her performance, while crooning her latest hit. She also looked amazing in a tight black ensemble with red jacket with her hair pulled up into a head wrap. Oh, and she oozed coolness while wearing her round sunglasses inside — girl can do no wrong! She was satisfied after finishing her performance that she even knocked her keyboard right over to the ground. Whoa!
Alicia dropped “In Common” in May, four years since the last time she put out new music. The timing was perfect, too, because it came not long after the 35-year-old was announced as a coach on the upcoming season of The Voice!
Yup, with Pharrell, 43, and Christina Aguilera, 35, out, Alicia is in, and she’ll be sitting alongside Miley Cyrus, 23, Adam Levine, 37, and Blake Shelton, 40, so it’s totally going to be an EPIC season. This is the first time there’s been two females on the panel, too, and we can’t wait to see how things are now that it’s a little different!
Don’t think that Alicia wasn’t busy during her time off from making music, either: She’s been busy raising a family with her hubby, Swizz Beatz! The couple welcomed their second son, Genesis, in Dec. 2014, making their first baby, Egypt, born October 2010, a big brother. So exciting! Obviously, Swizz joined his lady at the event to show his support — they’re so cute together!
HollywoodLifers, what did you think of Alicia’s performance?
