This is absolutely shocking! British Prime Minister David Cameron has resigned after UK voters moved to leave the European Union on June 24. He said in a speech that he didn’t think it would be ‘right for me’ to lead the country after the game-changing Brexit vote.
After 6 years serving as Britain’s Prime Minister, David Cameron, 49, has decided to resign from office. David revealed his decision after the UK citizens voted for Britain’s exit from the European Union, which is also known as Brexit. In an emotional speech following his resignation, David said he will leave office by the fall and his decision was one not made “lightly.”
The people of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland voted on whether the United Kingdom should leave or leave the EU. After 51.71% of the country voted to leave the European Union, David decided to step down as Britain’s Prime Minister. He revealed his shocking decision in a speech to his beloved country. The reason behind his resignation? He believes that the country “requires fresh leadership” after the Brexit vote.
“I will do everything I can as prime minister to steady the ship over the coming weeks and months, but I do not think it would be right for me to try to be the captain that steers our country to its next destination,” he said. “This is not a decision I have taken lightly, but I do believe it is in the national interest to have a period of stability and then the new leadership required. There is no need for a precise timetable today, but in my view we should aim to have a new prime minister in place by the start of the Conservative Party conference in October. Delivering stability will be important, and I will continue in post as prime minister with my cabinet for the next three months. The cabinet will meet on Monday.”
David has always been adamantly against the notion of the United Kingdom leaving the European Union. In his speech, he said that “Britain is stronger, safer and better off inside the European Union.” Despite the country going in a new direction — one that won’t include him — he’s got nothing but love for his country.
“I love this country — and I feel honored to have served it,” he said. “And I will do everything I can in future to help this great country succeed.”
I truly believe this is one of the most devastating things to happen during my lifetime. I felt a fear I've never felt this morning.

Very disappointed to hear the verdict of the Referendum. Can't believe that Britain is leaving the European Union. Feels so wrong.

Unlike these celebrities, Donald Trump is all for Britain leaving the European Union. As he arrived at one of his golf courses in Scotland, he said the United Kingdom “took back control of their country and the turnout of the Brexit vote was a “good thing.”
