‘Big Brother’: Cody Calafiore Reveals Showmance & Alliance Tips He Gave His Brother

Cody Calafiore knows a thing or two about making it to the end of 'Big Brother' -- he did it on Season 16. So, what tips did he have for his brother, Paulie, before he entered the BB18 house? HollywoodLife.com chatted with Cody right before the premiere. In case you missed Big Brother 16, Cody Calafiore landed a spot in the final two, bringing along BFF Derek. And no, even though he lost to Derek, he doesn't regret brining his bestie for one second. One of the twists in BB18, which continues its two-part premiere tonight, was the siblings of Cody and Season 17's Vanessa also entered the house. So, what did Cody learn in the house that he passed along to his bro, Paulie? And what was his one "no-no?" Well, he has a pretty strong view on showmances.

“My biggest piece of advice was about being social and being friendly,” Cody told us during the Big Brother premiere party at Ainsworth Park restaurant on June 22. “I was like, ‘For the first couple of weeks, don’t try to be a mastermind, don’t try to be a manipulator. Form good relationships that are going to last long term, down the road, because you can’t win competitions every week, you can’t be safe every week, so have people that are able to keep you safe. Don’t do anything that’s going to make people not trust you. Don’t be the guy who’s trying to form an alliance. Don’t be the guy who’s trying to get the house together to go against somebody else. Just be the guy that everyone likes.”

Well, that sounds easy enough right? Well, Cody’s bro did pretty well the first night and his team is not going home tonight. However, he did flirt a little bit and seemed interested — there are a lot of good looking people in the house this year.

“I said, ‘You better not go near a single girl in the house. No showmance ever ends well for the guy — guys always go home. Do not do it,'” Cody said. “That was my biggest thing and hopefully that stuck.” As for what else he felt was super important that he told his brother? Dial it down. Cody explained that his brother was more “in your face” than he was, but that he told him to — at least in the beginning — keep it down.

Cody also admitted that he was worried about Vanessa’s sister being in the house, too. Unlike Cody, she did not come clean on night one about her sibling. “I don’t think it would be a good idea to hide it. The only thing is, I think that Tiffany and him being there together is not good, because they’re easy ones to throw on the block,” Cody said, assuming houseguests would immediately assume they know more than the newbies.

Of course, this was before Cody knew about the new twist, bringing back four competitors from past seasons — right now, they are the target. HollywoodLifers, do you think Paulie will be able to make it as far as Cody did?
