He’s a Boston guy til he dies! It’s no secret that Ben Affleck is a huge New England Patriots fan, so when he was asked about Deflategate and Tom Brady’s suspension in an interview, he held nothing back. Watch his wild, expletive-filled rant in defense of his fave team here!
Ben Affleck, 43, is beyond pissed at the NFL for suspending Tom Brady, 38, for four games this season. While discussing the controversial suspension and Deflategate on Any Given Wednesday with Bill Simmons, Ben went off about his disdain for the league’s decision. You have to check out his five-minute rant right here!
“Deflategate is the ultimate bulls***, f***ing outrage of sports, ever,” the actor began. “It’s so f***ing stupid that I can’t believe [it].” In case you haven’t been following, the New England Patriots quarterback was suspended for four games for allegedly deflating game balls before the 2015 AFC championship.
“What they did was suspend Tom Brady for four days for not giving him his f***ing cellphone and for having a friend who called him ‘The Deflator,'” he continued. “If I got in trouble for all the things my friends called themselves, I would be finished, okay. You want to give a guy, because he doesn’t give you his cell phone, a punishment? I would never give an organization as leak-prone as the NFL my cellphone.”
The suspension was originally imposed on May 11, 2015, but Tom eventually took the NFL to court and won. However, the higher, federal appeals court reinstated the original decision in April 2016, and now, Tom has appealed once again.
“They’re not the FBI. This isn’t a f***ing federal subpoena,” he added. “You’re not required to turn over your bank records. This is outrageous!” He also said that the decision was a “conspiracy of people who work inside the NFL who all come from organizations where Tom Brady whipped their a** over the years.” WHOA!
